with Christine Armstrong

On today’s show, “Episode 57: How To Have Children & Have A Career And Stay Sane (ish)” Christine Armstrong, successful author, public speaker, and Business owner joins us to give advice to working mothers who want to have a successful career while staying sane.

Christine was very successful at her career, then started her family, and saw firsthand the struggles that mothers face.

Because of this, she wrote the book, The Mother of All Jobs: How to Have Children and a Career and Stay Sane(ish) where she discovered many mums struggling in silence and wanted the book to give them a voice.

Show Notes:

“I meet families, and interview families all the time that feel a crippling sense of failure. Why can’t I make this work? The narrative is, I’m supposed to make this work”

Christine was faced first-hand with the double demands of having a successful career and wanting to be the best mum she could be. Nevertheless, she struggled to balance both worlds and decided to write a book and interview hundreds of other mums in high stress careers in order to see what was really going on.

Christine joins us today to talk about the challenge double standard for women in the workplace, as well as the shame that mothers have to deal with when everything isn’t as perfect as people expect. She discusses what you can do to give you more ME time, and still get things done while getting the most out of your life.

If you’re a working mother, who’s working a high-stress job, and are struggling to cope, then this will be a perfect episode for you.
