Allowing for the Vision

Nurturing Dreams for Your Child’s Growth

There are certain visions I have had for Leo, and seeing them come into being is so delightful. These moments remind me how powerful it is to dream for our children, guided by love, and watch those dreams manifest.

A Vision of Belonging

My vision for Leo was to feel part of the town we live in. I wanted him to grow up connected to his community, to walk down the street and say hi to his friends as a local. So, I put him in the local school, believing it would help nurture those connections.

Today, I was reminded of this vision. While at the park, he walked over to a group of his mates and started chatting with them. Watching him interact so naturally brought a tear to my eye. It was a beautiful reminder that this vision of belonging has already been realized.

Creating Spaces for Joy and Connection

Having picked up a friend for a playdate, I envisioned Leo and his friends enjoying themselves in our new playroom/workroom. And just like that, there they were, playing and laughing together. It was another moment when a vision became reality, filling our home with joy.

Shared Adventures in the Mountains

Another vision I held was for us to ski together. It’s such a special way to bond while embracing the beauty of the outdoors. This December, we’ll be heading to the mountains once again, fulfilling that dream. It’s incredible to think about how these shared adventures have brought us closer.

A Passion for Martial Arts

I also envisioned Leo excelling at martial arts. It’s something he loves deeply and practices for four hours a week—a commitment he’s upheld for about three years now. Watching him thrive in this area brings me so much pride and joy.

Visions Rooted in Love

What’s interesting about these visions is that they’ve always come from a place of love. They feel as though they’ve flowed through me, rather than being imposed upon him. I’ve never wanted to dictate his path; instead, our visions have aligned naturally.

As I reflected on this today, I realized how powerful it is to have a vision for our kids. These dreams act as our North Star, guiding us to take actions that support their growth and happiness.
